“Take it on back, take it on back” to a kick ass show last Thursday night! Radio station 106.5 The Wolf, Howlin’ At The Hall presented Chase Bryant with Joe Hall to Kanza Hall. Drinks were flowing and people were gleaming with excitement for some great music!

Georgia bred newcomer Joe Hall opened the show for the RoomtoBreathe tour.  The set list consisted of songs from his album Girlfriend (acoustic versions) that was released in July, 2016. A few of the songs included were “Want Her Bad” and “Do It Again”. Hall’s stage presence stood out as he kept the audience intrigued with his music and left them wanting more.  Once his set was over, he swung by the merchandise table to meet with the fans. Can’t wait to see what 2017 will bring for Hall!

WOW, Chase Bryant, WOW! I was really impressed with this man and how he can put on a show! His enthusiasm shined through as he took the stage and opened with “Getaway Car”. Bryant performed a 17-song set list that included songs from his own EP’s and covers of other artists. Some of the songs he played were “Bad For You”, “Wayfarer Weather”, “A Little Bit of You”, “Jet Black Pontiac”, “Love Somebody” by Keith Urban, “Picking Wildflowers” by Keith Anderson, “Free Fallin’” by Tom Petty, and his newly released single, “Room to Breathe”.

He sang a touching acoustic version of “Red Dirt Road” by Brooks & Dunn for himself and for a friend that he had lost who was in the military. Then he thanked those who served or are serving in the military. Bryant reached out and connected with the fans in Kansas City, encouraging us with hopes of the Royals winning another World Series or the Chiefs going to the Super Bowl. He then told everyone to raise their drinks and toasted, “everybody ready to get a little funky?” He continued on with the music and shredding his guitar! Fun fact: Bryant is left-handed but plays a right-handed guitar upside down! He ended the show with my favorite song, “Take It On Back”.

It was enjoyable to see how Bryant was able to relate with the crowd. He is a unique artist that loves what he does and it is shows through his expressions. After the show was over, he told the crowd he would come and hang out. A little while later, he was wandering around the bar taking photos and signing autographs.

I have no doubt that this was my favorite show at Kanza Hall and can’t wait to see Chase Bryant perform again. He is heading out on tour with Brad Paisley and Lindsay Ell.  If you get a chance to catch Chase on the road, do it and you will not regret seeing him in concert!
