KENNY ROGERS TO BE INDUCTED INTO MUSIC CITY WALK OF FAME
Today, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. Announced that music icon Kenny Rogers will be inducted into the music city walk of fame on Tuesday, 24th October 2017 by 1 pm. Located on Nashville's Music Mile, The Music City Walk of Fame is a landmark tribute to artists of all genres.
Due to his significant contribution to country music and preserving the heritage of Nashville musically, Kenny Rogers will receive the 80th star on the walk of fame on the 24th followed by the farewell celebration on the 25th where he will perform alongside Parton, Elle King, Reba Mc Entire, and many other acts.
An elated mayor of Nashville Mayor Megan Barry had beautiful words for the artist in her statement as she expressed her joy for the musical icon’s achievements over the years.
"Rogers is an incredibly accomplished artist who has sold more than 120 million albums across the globe, with nearly six decades on the charts he has notched many chart-topping songs with his famous duet partner Dolly Parton and other talented artists. He is also a bestselling author and an all-around living legend!"
The ceremony will be on October 24th, one day prior to Rogers Nashville's Farewell Concert Celebration that is set to take place at Bridgestone Arena. The show will feature the final live duet performance with Dolly Parton, as well as guest artists taking the stage to perform such as Jamey Johnson, Alison Krauss, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Reba McEntire, Chris Stapleton and Wynonna Judd.
