LANCO Long Lived the Nights in Minneapolis
by Molly Pass
LANCO’s start of 2019 quickly turned into “Hallelujah Nights” in Minneapolis where the crowd got their LANCO fix with back to back shows at Varsity Theater. After the first show selling out, LANCO added a second show to give more fans an opportunity for an unforgettable experience.
The first thing that caught my eye from the minute LANCO took to the stage was their energy level. I have never seen that strong of a start from a group in a while as they came out singing their album title track, “Hallelujah Nights.” The crowd was immediately invested and ready for the fun that was going to happen.
LANCO is composed of five guys who met and became a band in college. They came to discover their passion for music and decided to pursue their dreams together. In their attempt at showing the crowd how they are all normal guys, they parted the crowd and went off stage to the middle of the venue to jam out with the crowd. Several songs they sang ranged from classics such as “Springsteen,” “Free Falling,” and “Drink in my Hand.”
In appreciation to where they got their start, they shared how they performed in Minneapolis when opening for Brothers Osborne two years ago. They gave a shout out to their opener, Caylee Hammack, who came out and warmed the crowd up with her spunk and passion. She promoted a few singles which will be dropping in a few weeks.
The boys of LANCO took full advantage of this being their first headlining tour because they owned that stage. Their setlist consisted of many of their own songs from their debut album such as “Long Live Tonight,” “Pick You Up,” “We Do,” and “Troublemaker.” They even mixed it up a little bit by performing “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers, which had the crowd pumped up.
They ended their time on stage with their newest single, “Born to Love You.” After a few minutes of cheers, screams and chants. LANCO returned to the stage with their biggest hit, “Greatest Love Story,” which peaked at number one on U.S. Country Airplay.
The back to back nights of LANCO performances at Varsity Theater were nothing short of amazing! The crowd sang every song, danced to every beat, and loved every second of the show. Their show was full of energy from start to finish. I’d certainly say that “We Do” love LANCO and cannot wait to see where they go in the future. If you haven’t had a chance to see them live, I suggest you put them on your list to see and I promise you will not be disappointed.
